Used Fry Days for many years but sadly since the pandemic it has gone slowly done hill. Your order was cooked while you wait instead of being pre cooked as it is now and your fish & chips were excellent . tried Pisces after hearing they had taken it over but again we were both very disappointed , Hate putting in a negative review like this but they need to pull their socks up.less

Ordered 3 sausages and chips for 3 children, got home only two sausages, As a regular customer next time i went in and explain what happened. I was told that they could not do anything as you need to ring them the same day and complain. So they make the mistake, it causes problems when I get home to the children. They didn't offer an extra sausage as a good will gesture because they said how we know you’re not lying. It's not the cost of the sausage, it’s the principle. Make sure you check your order before you leave.less

By recommendation we decided to use Fry Days Fish Bar as opposed to our usual, Pisces. Being a large party I phoned to pre-order at lunchtime and was assigned a collection number (note: at no point did they ask for a name or contact telephone number, which had they done, would have mitigated the issues faced later that evening…) They are undoubtedly very popular as when I arrived there were people queued out the door and waiting on the pavement outside. Despite the specified timeslot there was still a short wait for my order to be called, although they appeared to be running a fairly efficient service. Prior to this however, my order had mistakenly been given to some other customers which caused one of the staff members to chase them up the street, take it off them and return it to the shop where they then passed it on to me. I then drove home. When it came to dishing out the food we were short of a chicken burger. I called Fry Days right away, the response “We know…” which was extremely frustrating as had they taken a contact telephone number when I placed the order they could have called me to go back and get it before I returned home and began plating up. At this point I was given the option of a refund (for the burger) or returning to collect it along with some complimentary chips. Ultimately as this was someone’s dinner missing we wanted the actual burger and asked if someone would be so kind as to deliver it, as otherwise I had spent more time away from the guests, playing delivery driver, then I had with them - not to mention the fuel costs of driving backwards and forwards… They advised that this was not an option and so infuriatingly, particularly given that this was their error, I made a dash to the shop for the second time that evening. When I got there I walked in and the girl behind the counter handed me the forgotten burger. I voiced that this wasn’t good enough, given that everyone else aside from myself and the person who’s burger it was, would have finished eating by the time I returned. I asked if they would reimburse me some of the money to make up for the fact I had to return, general inconvenience etc. The girl was rather blunt and rude in her response saying that she couldn’t refund me in any way as there was “not actually anything wrong with the food”. Although at this point I wouldn’t know, as I hadn’t eaten anything due to returning to the shop and I would have to await the feedback of everyone else back home! I declined the offer of chips simply because we already had an abundance and I hate waste. Instead I was merely offered “a free can of drink or that’s it” which given the cost of the overall order (£70+) and the inconvenience, a single can of drink as ‘compensation’ (for a party of 10 people who all had their evening tainted) was fascicle. Overall the situation was not very well handled at all and put a real dampener on the evening.less
